Nothing is sold on this site

This site doesn't sell anything directly. Paid subscriptions to the Behind the Stories newsletter are sold and managed by Substack, under Substack's terms, including cancellations and refunds. Books are bought from Bookshop.org or other retailers under their terms.

Affiliate links

Some book links are Bookshop.org affiliate links. If you buy a book through one, Elena earns a small commission at no extra cost to you, which helps support the podcast. Books are featured because Elena has read them and wants to talk about them, not because of any payment.

Copyright

The writing, show notes and Elena's own photographs on this site belong to Elena Bowes unless stated otherwise. Book covers belong to their publishers and are shown to identify the books discussed. Magazine and newspaper articles belong to their publishers and are shown as examples of Elena's published work.

You're welcome to quote short extracts with a credit and a link back. Please don't copy whole pieces or images without asking first. If you believe something on the site is yours and shouldn't be here, email elena@elenabowes.com and it will be looked at promptly.
